WOLSEY — Stanley “Stan” Bawdon, 65, of Wolsey, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
His memorial service will be 1 p.m.today at the Kuhler Funeral Home.
Stanley Richard Bawdon was born January 31, 1953, at Huron to Richard Miles and Lila (Hall) Bawdon. He grew up south of Ree Heights until 1968, when the family settled in Huron. He graduated in 1971, from Huron High School. He served in the S.D. Army National Guard with the 153rd Engineer Battalion from 1971 to 1980. He was employed with Huron Dressed Beef, and as a farm hand. He had a big heart and contributed to many organizations.
He is survived by his children, Raquel Bawdon of Huron, and Corey (Stephanie) Bawdon of Hayti; mother, Lila Bawdon of Huron; four grandchildren; siblings, Jesse Bawdon of Sioux Falls, Terry (Marla) Bawdon of Huron, Brad (Brenda) Bawdon of Alpena, and Diane Bryan of North Pole, Alaska; uncles, Marvin Bawdon of Sturgis, and Robert Gerald “Jerry” (Marsha) Bawdon of Rapid City; aunt, Bonnie Heasley of Miller; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Kevin Bawdon; uncles, Omar Lee Bawdon, Doc Heasley, and Don Hall; aunt, Marley Bawdon; and brother-in-law, Norm Bryan.
