Susan C. Schinderling, 72, of Watertown

WATERTOWN — Susan C. Schinderling, 72, of Watertown and formerly of Huron, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022, at her home in Watertown.


Her Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron.


Visitation, with her family present, will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.


Susan Carol Ringheimer, was born on January 18, 1949 in Huron to parents Arthur W. and Ethelyn (Hatcher) Ringheimer. Susan was one of 16 siblings. She was very proud of her large family and you could frequently hear her rattle off all 16 names. She attended schools in Huron, graduating from Huron High School.


Susan married Kerwin Williams on July 8, 1971, and they made their home in Alpena raising their, family. Kerwin passed away on April 5, 1995. On April 20, 2001, Susan married Mahlon Schinderling in Huron. They moved to Watertown in September 2020.


Susan worked at Raven Industries for many years, retiring in 2009. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, having morning coffee and her afternoon Coke. She loved to play BINGO with family and have sweet treats. She had a great sense of humor which will be missed.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kerwin; and nine of her siblings.


Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband, Mahlon of Watertown; children, Todd (Chanda) Walter of Brookings, Troy (Misty) Williams of Hayti, and Tami (Chris) Stricherz of Watertown; stepchildren, Michael Schinderling of Portland, Ore., Craig Schinderling of Watertown, Tom (Jeanna) Schinderling of Fargo, Sandi Schinderling of Texas, and Vicki (Jim) Horn of Manson, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Zachary (Brooke) Stricherz, Mallory (Brent) Zemlicka, Caleb and Sidney Stricherz, Megan (Elex) Rust, Bryce (Alissa Ball) Williams, Jacob and Addison Williams; two step-grandchildren, Tessa (Adham) Horn and Hannah Horn; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Lennox and Easton; four brothers, Tom, Bob, Jim, and Richard Ringheimer; two sisters, Alice Sargent and Cora Horton; and many nieces and nephews.
