HURON — Wayne Lee Fenner, 66, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2019, at his residence in Huron.
A celebration of his life with a time of sharing will be 6:30 p.m., Sunday, March 24, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening, with family present. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery at Iroquois.
Wayne was born April 26, 1952, in Iroquois to Frank and Phyllis Fenner. He graduated from Iroquois High School in 1970, earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English and German from SDSU in 1974, and his Master’s degree in English from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He taught in Ohio, and in Berlin, Germany. He was also lecturer and professor in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands through the University of Maryland, as well as the University of Minn. He became an Education Coordinator at the Career Planning Center in Huron in 1992. He taught at Pride High, for over 20 years, retiring in 2014.
He is survived by his mother, Phyllis of Iroquois; siblings, Alan (Marlys) Fenner of Menno, and Susan (Doug) Meyer of Iroquois. He also had three nieces, Carrie (Zach) Oster of Whitewater, Wisc., Erin (Cody) Raveling of Marshall, Minn., and Shelby (Brodee) Landmark of Volga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Fenner.
