Huron golf hosts tournament on Tuesday

HURON — With the top four golfers in the field, Aberdeen Central cruised to the victory in a triangular meet held Tuesday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles finished with a 12-over-par score of 300, which put them 91 strokes ahead of second-placed Pierre. Huron was third with a score of 445.
Emma Dohrer carded a 71, which earned her the medalist honors for Aberdeen Central. Her 1-under-par score put her one stroke ahead of teammate Olivia Braun.
Kyley Wirebaugh of Aberdeen Central was third at 77, while teammate Carli Withers was fourth with an 80.
Hadley Hart of Pierre rounded out the top five with an 81, while teammate Sittie Kasan was seventh at 97.
Capping the scoring lineup for the Pierre were Sierra Prunty, who tied for eighth with a 100, and Drew Rectenbaugh, who was 14th at 113.
Taylor Sorben led Huron with a 100, which placed her in the 3-way tie for eighth place.
Olivia Purintun and Paige Sherron were No. 12 and 13, respectively, for the Tigers with scores of 111 and 112.
Valeria Hohn was the fourth golfer for Huron with a 122.
Rounding out the lineup for the Tigers were Jesselyn Matthews at 123, Kolby Glanzer at 127 and Taryn Cass at 131.
Huron is now off until the Pierre Invite, which is slated for April 29.
