WATERTOWN — More than 30 students were recently chosen to represent the 2024-25 student body at Lake Area Technical College in Watertown. Student Voice representatives were chosen by their programs and will serve as liaisons between the student body and Lake Area Tech’s leadership team.
Among the students chosen was Jaya Anderson of Huron, chosen by the Business program.
Lake Area Technical College Vice President Cam Corey said students were chosen for their leadership skills, academic standing and ability to interact positively with diverse groups of people.
“These students represent some of our state’s brightest young people,” Corey said. “They are tasked with bringing forward initiatives that will positively impact students for years to come. I look forward to working with them and I’m excited to see what they will bring to the table.”
In addition to representing their individual programs, Student Voice representatives participate in community activities, develop valuable leadership skills, attend the South Dakota Legislative Session in Pierre, and lead fundraising activities that benefit Lake Area Tech students.
