Area athletes win at Miller Invitational

MILLER — Some of the top area athletes claimed victories on Tuesday at the Miller Invitational.
Isaak Hunter won the 110- and 300-meter relay events for Miller.
Isaac Wipf won the 100 for James Valley Christian, while teammate Kaden Ober won the 1,600.
Pierce Baumberger claimed the top spot in the 3,200 for the Miller boys. Colin Hughes of Wolsey-Wessingotn was the top thrower in the discus, while Tayne Herrmann of James Valley Christian won the javelin.
Redfield won the boys’ 800 relay, with Jackson Sandoz, Nicholas Becker, Payton Moore and Jacob Buranen running.
Owan Watson, Jensen Wipf, Jimmy Burma and Jacob Hadden teamed up to win the 1,600 relay for Sunshine Bible Academy.
Wolsey-Wessington and Sunshine Bible Academy each had two wins in the girls’ relays.
Daytona Finch, Tatum Luce, Danika Peterson and Riyli Peterson won the 400 relay for Wolsey-Wessington. Kendal Uttecht, Abby Huntsinger, Danika Peterson and Riyli Peterson claimed the win in the 800 relay for the Lady Warbirds.
Sunshine Bible Academy, which was represented by Tessa Hinman, Ciera Mickelson, Dakota Boersma and Abby Hinman, won the 1,600 relay. The same group of girls also won the medley relay for the Lady Crusaders.
Whitley Baloun claimed the victory in the 400 and 100 hurdles for Highmore-Harrold, while Autumn Fallis won the 1,600 for the Pirates.
Faith Baumberger claimed the win for Miller in the shot put, while teammates Aleah Schlechter won the javelin and Paige Werdel won the long jump.
Tatum Luce of Wolsey-Wessington won the high jump and Samara Clemente won the triple jump for the Lady Warbirds.
