Wessington Springs 58, Sunshine Bible Academy 29
MILLER — Success in the opening half helped Wessington Springs to a 58-29 victory against Sunshine Bible Academy on Thursday.

The Lady Spartans led 17-12 after the opening quarter and outscored SBA 31-2 in the second quarter to build a 48-14 lead at the half.

Ashyn Weber had 10 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for Wessington Springs. Masynn Mebius had eight points, while Kerrstynn Heim and Kenzie Kolousek each had seven points.

Weber also had a team-high six rebounds and five steals for the Lady Spartans.

Kendall Kolousek had four assists and Kenzie Kolousek had five steals.

Abby Hinman was the lone player to reach double figures for Sunshine Bible Academy with 10 points. Ciera Mickelson and Breanna Thieman added seven and six points, respectively.

Abby Hinman had six rebounds for the Lady Crusaders, while Tessa Hinman had four steals.

Wessington Springs hosts Ethan today, while SBA is at McIntosh on Saturday.

The Lady Warbirds led 31-3 at the half and 37-7 heading into the final quarter.

Shae Uttecht and Kenli Hooks each had 12 points to lead Wolsey-Wessington. Maria Nelson and Kendal Uttecht added eight and seven points, respectively.

JVC was led by Addison Kleinsasser with five points and Janiyah Waldner with four points.

ARLINGTON — The De Smet Bulldogs jumped out to a 19-7 first quarter lead and coasted to a 66-47 victory over the Arlington Cardinals Thursday in Arlington.

The Bulldogs (5-3) were led by Hazel Luethmers were 19 points. Audi Currier added 13 points. Currier, Mirra Beck, and Megan Dylla each had seven rebounds.

Arlington fell to 3-4. Jaelyn Huntimer led the Cardinals with 15 points while Sony Johnson had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Bulldogs will travel to Lake Preston to take on Iroquois/Lake Preston on Monday.

After each team put up 13 points in the opening half, the Lady Patriots outscored Iroquois/Lake Preston 14-2 in the third quarter to carry a 27-15 lead into the final quarter.

Katelyn Schroeder and Cambree Hoekman had 13 and 12 points, respectively, to lead Hitchcock-Tulare, which improved to 3-2. Gracyn Bixler and Emmerie Arthurs had seven and six points, respectively.

Natalie Cundy had nine points to lead the Sharks, who are now 2-5. Kera Dubro added eight points.

The Sharks, who are now 4-3, used a 16-7 run in the second quarter to build a 28-14 advantage at the half.

Also reaching double figures for Iroquois/Lake Preston was Ryne Greene with 10 points. Brycen Blue added eight points.

Patrick Maynard had 16 points to lead three players in double figures for Hitchcock-Tulare, which is now 1-4. Devin Enander had 14 points and Briggs LaBrie added 11 points.

McCoy Schultz had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which is now 3-2. Landon Jensen added nine points, while Grant Edwards and Evan Easton added seven and six points, respectively.

Bryce Larson had a team-high four rebounds for the Blackhawks, while Edwards had five steals.
