Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 70, Bridgewater-Emery 44
FORESTBURG –– The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks found themselves trailing after one quarter, but then outscored the Bridgewater-Emery Huskies 60-27 the rest of the way for a 70-44 victory Tuesday at Sanborn Central High School.

The Blackhawks move to 4-2 behind 28 points and eight rebounds from Liz Boschee.
Alexa Goertz poured in 20 points.

Kaylie Robinson had a strong all-around game for SC/W with 10 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists.

The Huskies fall to 3-4. Hayden Hofer led the way with 17 points while Macie Weber added 16. Each had four rebounds to lead Bridgewater-Emery.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket easily took the junior varsity game 44-11.

The Blackhawks are back in action at Howard on Thursday.

Deuel 65, De Smet 58
DE SMET — With a rally in the fourth quarter, Deuel stayed unbeaten with a 65-58 victory against De Smet on Monday.

De Smet opened a 20-9 lead in the first quarter and led 31-26 at the half. Deuel sliced its deficit to four points heading into the final quarter and outscored the Bulldogs 22-11 during the final eight minutes to secure the win.

Troy Jenson had 21 points to lead three players in double figures for the Cardinals, who are now 4-0. Kyle Finnesand had 15 points and Gabe Sather added 14 points.

Jaxon Peterreins snagged eight rebounds for Deuel, while Jenson had five assists.

Grant Wilkinson finished with a game-high 36 points and 23 rebounds for De Smet, which is now 2-3. Ganon Henrich added eight points.

Samuel Gigov recorded four assists for the Bulldogs.

De Smet returns to action Friday, playing at Arlington. Deuel plays at Webster Area on Thursday.
