Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 45, Corsica/Stickney 35
WOONSOCKET - After falling behind 17-8 at the end of one period, the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks outscored the Corsica/Stickney Jaguars 37-8 the rest of the way to bring home a 45-35 victory Thursday in Woonsocket.

The Blackhawks moved to 3-0 behind 19 points and nine rebounds from Liz Boschee. Kam Ochsner added 13 points.

The Jaguars fell to 1-3. Braylee Bordewyk had 10 points and Sophie DeLange grabbed seven rebounds to lead Corsica/Stickney.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket won the JV game 23-18.

The Blackhawks host Mount Vernon/Plankinton in Woonsocket on Tuesday.

ETHAN — Ethan pulled away in the second half to record a 53-40 victory against James Valley Christian on Thursday.

The Rustlers held a 24-23 edge at the half and led 34-30 heading into the final quarter. They then used a 19-10 run in the final quarter to pull away.

Maddy Bartscher had 14 points to lead three players in double figures for Ethan, which improved to 2-1. Ella Pollreisz had 12 points, while Ava Lingemann had 10 points.

Alexa Goertz led all scorers with 16 points for James Valley Christian. Addison Bartholow also reached double figures with 13 points.

The Lady Vikings, who are now 1-2, are back in action today at Sunshine Bible Academy. Ethan travels to play Freeman Academy/Marion on Saturday in Freeman.

LAKE BENTON - The Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks hung close for three quarters, but the Elkton-Lake Benton Lady Elks pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 49-41 victory in Lake Benton.

Elkton-Lake Benton moves to 2-1 behind 24 points and nine rebounds from Kylie Ramlo. Tevan Erickson added 16 points, 12 in the clinching final quarter, for the Lady Elks.

The Sharks fall to 1-2 despite 15 points from Adison Moore and 12 points from Kera Dubro.

The Sharks will play Deuel as part of the Michael J. Entringer Scholarship Classic Saturday in Colman.

WOONSOCKET - The Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks exploded for an 18-4 third quarter en route to a 54-26 victory over the Corsica-Stickney Jaguars Thursday in Woonsocket.

Jeff Boschee led the Blackhawks (3-0) with 22 points and McCoy Schulz added 11 points.

The Jaguars fell to 1-2. Luca Catapano led Corsica-Stickney with six points.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket won the JV game 47-25.

The Blackhawks will host Mount Vernon/Plankinton Tuesday in Woonsocket.

Deuel 79, Redfield 29

REDFIELD - The Deuel Cardinals moved to 3-0 on the season with a resounding 79-29 victory over the Redfield Pheasants Thursday in Redfield.

Trey Maaland had a dominant game with 38 points and nine rebounds for the Cardinals. Troy Jensen added nine points and Gabe Sather eight for Deuel.

Tristan O’Daniel and Justin Ratigan each scored 10 points to lead Redfield (0-2). Ratigan grabbed eight rebounds to pace the Pheasants.

Redfield will host Sisseton on Tuesday.

De Smet 59, Clark/Willow Lake 50
WILLOW LAKE — Three players reached double figures to help De Smet to a 59-50 victory against Clark/Willow Lake on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs opened a 22-14 lead in the first quarter and held a 29-25 advantage heading into the second half. They used a 19-6 run in the third quarter to build a 48-31 lead and held on to secure the 9-point win.

Kadyn Fast and Britt Carlson had 16 and 15 points, respectively, to lead De Smet. George Jensen added 13 points, while Tom Aughenbaugh and Trace Van Regenmorter had eight and seven points, respectively.

Van Regenmorter also had a team-high nine rebounds and three steals for the Bulldogs. Aughenbaugh also had three steals.

Emmerson Larson finished with a game-high 20 points and had three steals for Clark/Willow Lake.
Aaron Zemlicka had nine rebounds.
