Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 48, Highmore-Harrold 34
HIGHMORE — Sanborn Central/Woonsocket built a 15-6 lead in the opening quarter en route to a 48-34 victory against Highmore-Harrold in a 281 Conference matchup on Friday.

Liz Boschee had 19 points to lead the Lady Blackhawks, who improved to 10-8. Jaycee Baruth added nine points.

Boschee also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, while having four assists and eight steans for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket.

Jada Baloun led Highmore-Harrold with 11 points, while Elle Stagg and Autumn Fallis had seven points each.

Kendall Cermak had eigh rebounds and seven assists for the Pirates, who are now 8-9.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will host James Valley Christian in Woonsocket on Tuesday.

Highmore-Harrold returns to action today with a 4 p.m., game against Langford Area at the Warner Classic.

Wessington Springs 49, Hitchcock-Tulare 35
HITCHCOCK - The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans bounced back after a tough loss Thursday to put the defensive clamps on the Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots, holding them to nine first-half points en route to a 49-35 victory.

The win moves the Lady Spartans to 14-4 and drops the Lady Pats to 5-13.

Springs was led by Carissa Scheel, with 15 points on five three-point baskets. Avery Orth added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Patriots were led by Cambree Hoekman with 14, including four 3-point baskets.

The Lady Patriots will play at Aberdeen Christian on Monday. while the Lady Spartans tangle with Kimball/White Lake Tuesday at Kimball.

HITCHCOCK — The Wessington Springs Spartans, ranked fifth in the most recent Class “B” poll, put six players in double-figure scoring to defeat the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots 77-48 Friday in Hitchcock.

The Spartans win their 15th straight game behind 15 points from Brock Krueger. Parker Graff and Ryder Michalek each added 13 points, Colby Flowers chipped in 12, and Blake Larson and Karter Mebius tallied 10 points apiece.

The Patriots were led by Erik Salmen with 19. Patrick Maynard added 16 and Jackson Maynard 10 for H-T.

The Patriots travel to Aberdeen Christian Monday while the Spartans travel to Kimball/White Lake Tuesday.
