WOLSEY –– Trailing by as many as 15 points late in the second quarter, the Wolsey-Wessington Warbirds rallied to have the ball with a chance to tie or take the lead with seven seconds remaining, but the Warbirds could not get a clean shot off and the Bulldogs came away with a 53-51 victory Tuesday in Wolsey.

The Bulldogs (11-7) had three players in double figures, led by Grant Wilkinson with 19 points and 22 rebounds. Slayten Wilkinson had 12 points and Noah Luethmers added 10 points.

The Warbirds fall to 13-4 despite 18 points and eight rebounds for Moshe Richmond and 17 points and four steals for Caleb Richmond.

The Warbirds travel to Warner Tuesday while the Bulldogs travel Tuesday to Estelline/Hendricks.

HIGHMORE — Hitchcock-Tulare escaped with a 55-53 victory against Highmore-Harrold in a 281 Conference matchup on Tuesday.

The Patriots, who improved to 5-10, led 18-13 after the first quarter and doubled their advantage to 30-20 at the half.
Devin Enander had a game-high 22 points to lead Hitchcock-Tulare. Patrick Maynard also reached double figures with 15 points, while Preston Wipf and Aiden Frankenstein added nine and seven points, respectively.

Brooks McPeak and Aiden Ferens each had 16 points to lead Highmore-Harrold. Caleb Roth reached double figures with 11 points, including a 7-of-10 effort from the free-throw line, and Jordan Erfman added seven points.

Highmore-Harrold travels to face Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in Woonsocket today.

REDFIELD — Behind a 30-point effort from Drew Bakeberg, Warner recorded a 70-41 victory against Redfield on Tuesday.

Brayden Kroll also reached double figures for the Monarchs, who are now 8-9, with 14 points. Brennan Wolf Donat added nine points.

Bakeberg also had eight rebounds for Warner.

Ruben Alveraz led Redfield with 17 points, while Ethan Falk had seven points.

Alveraz and Falk shared the rebounding honors for the Pheasants, who are now 1-14, with four rebounds each.

Warner faces Florence/Henry in Henry today, while Redfield is off until Monday, when it travels to face Deuel.

The Bulldogs, who improved to 10-7, led 25-20 at the half and carried a 42-38 victory into the final quarter.

Grant Wilkinson had 20 points and 14 rebounds to lead De Smet. Ganon Henrich also reached double figures with 12 points.

Alifie Henderson had 15 points to lead three players in double figures for Flandreau, which is now 9-8. Micah Otto and Kody Kneebone had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Kneebone had seven boards for the Fliers, while Paul Parsley had nine assists.
