Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 45, Ethan 27
FORESTBURG — A stifling defensive effort in the second half, helped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket, which was receiving votes in the Class B rankings, to a 45-27 victory against No. 3-ranked Ethan on Tuesday.
After trailing by seven points at the end of the opening quarter, Ethan rallied to even the score at 23-23 heading into the second half.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket then limited the Rustlers to just two points in each of the final two quarters to pull away for the victory.
Liz Boschee had a game-high 26 points to lead the Lady Blackhawks, who improved to 12-2. Kaylie Robinson and Addi Bartholow each had five points.
Robinson helped Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to a 32-27 advantage on the boards with 11 rebounds. Boschee had team highs with three assists and two steals.
Ella Pollereisz and Taziah Hawkins had seven and six points, respectively, to lead Ethan, which is now 12-3. Marissa Storm had three assists and three steals.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket travels to face second-ranked Parkston on Thursday. Ethan takes on Mt. Vernon/Plankinton on Monday in Plankinton.

MILLER — Jada Baloun had 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead Highmore-Harrold to a 48-17 victory against Sunshine Bible Academy in a 281 Conference matchup on Tuesday.
Also reaching double figures for the Pirates, who improved to 11-2, was Emma Ferens with 10 points. Autumn Falls recorded team highs with four assists and four steals.
Abby Hinman and Breanna Thieman each had six points for Sunshine Bible Academy, which is now 3-10.
Cierra Mickelson and Hinman each had four steals for SBA.
Highmore-Harrold will host Lyman on Thursday. SBA travels to face Hitchcock-Tulare in Hitchcock on Friday.

HURON — With an 18-3 run in the third quarter, James Valley Christian pulled away for a 54-37 victory against Hitchcock-Tulare in a 281 Conference matchup on Tuesday.
The Vikings, who improved to 8-6, led 16-10 after the opening quarter and carried a 32-20 lead into the half.
Jerrad Wallman had a game-high 20 points to lead JVC, while Tayne Herrmann also reached double figures with 13 points. Huntley Steele and
Jayven Van Scharrel added nine and eight points, respectively.
Hitchcock-Tulare, which is now 4-9, was led by Devin Enander with 11 points and Patrick Maynard with nine points.
The Vikings will host Faulkton Area on Friday. Hitchcock-Tulare hosts Sunshine Bible Academy in Hitchcock on Friday.

DE SMET — Grant Wilkinson had a game-high 29 points and 15 rebounds to lead De Smet to a 66-39 victory against Canistota on Monday.
The Bulldogs led 18-8 after the opening quarter and stretched their advantage to 34-15 at the half.
Carter Wilkinson also reached double figures for De Smet, which is now 7-6, with 16 points and had a team-high five assists. Ganon Henrich and Samuel Gigov each had a pair of steals.
Brady Scott had 23 points and five rebounds for Canistota, which is now 1-13.
De Smet travels to play Elkton-Lake Benton on Thursday.

SIOUX FALLS — The De Smet Bulldogs held on for a 59-52 victory against the Sioux Valley Cossacks on Saturday at the Pentagon Classic.
Grant Wilkinson had 24 points to lead four players in double figures for De Smet, which improved to 6-6. Carter Wilkinson had 13 points, including four 3-pointers, while Slayten Wilkinson and Ganon Henrich each had 10 points.
Grant Wilkinson had 12 rebounds to help the Bulldogs to a 36-22 advantage on the boards. Noah Luethmers recorded six assists.
Maverick Nelson had 20 points and seven rebounds to lead the Cossacks, who are are now 7-7. Brady Hiltunen had 10 points.
