The North Central Land and Range Region recently held the annual land and range contest in Gettysburg, SD. Land judging members judged characteristics, such as soil texture and slope, to evaluate the usefulness of the given sites for agricultural and homesite purposes. The range judging members used their knowledge of plant identification to judge and apply livestock and wildlife practices.
In the land judging division, Hitchcock-Tulare FFA placed first, qualifing to attend the National Land and Range Contest in Oklahoma City, OK in late April/early May. In the range judging division, Hitchcock-Tulare FFA placed second and Doland FFA placed third.
