De Smet 57, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 6
RUTLAND – The second-ranked De Smet Bulldogs were led by four touchdowns from quarterback Britt Carlson en route to a 57-6 drubbing of the Oldham-Ramona/Rutland Raiders (0-3) in Rutland.

The Bulldogs move to 3-1 behind Carlson’s 147 yards on 6 of 6 passing with four scores and a 2-pt conversion pass.

Kadyn Fast scored a receiving touchdown and returned two kicks for touchdowns. Trace Van Regenmorter grabbed two balls for 35 yards and two touchdowns.

Gannon Gilligan made 19 tackles to lead the De Smet defense while Slayten Wilkinson added 15 stops.

The Bulldogs host Wolsey-Wessington Friday.

Hitchcock-Tulare 56, Waverly-South Shore 38
TULARE     – Third-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare pulled off a high-scoring homecoming victory Friday 56-38 over the Waverly-South Shore Coyotes in Tulare.

The Patriots moved to 3-1 behind a huge game from senior Erik Salmen as he rushed for 352 yards on 25 carries, scoring four touchdowns. Salmen also caught two balls for 25 yards and another score, completed a halfback pass for 28 yards, and also lead the Patriot defense with eight tackles and a forced fumble.

Hitchcock-Tulare rolled up 606 total offensive yards. Quarterback Brendan Nowell was 6 of 11 passing for 55 yards and two scores while also running for 48 yards. Patrick Maynard scored a pair of rushing touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass.

The Coyotes fall to 0-4, but were able to tally 425 yards of offense in defeat.

The Patriots travel to fourth-ranked Avon Friday.
