SALEM — Using 22 unanswered points, Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central recorded a 22-6 victory against McCook Central/Montrose on Friday.

It was the third consecutive win for the Blackhawks, who are now 3-0.

Ty Morrison hauled in a 26-yard pass from Lane Deutsh to put the Fighting Cougars on the board first in the opening quarter.

W/WS/SC had the lone score in the second quarter. Tyson Eddy reached the end zone on a 1-yard run and Holden Havlik added the conversion on a run to give the Blackhawks a 8-6 advantage at the half.

Havlik scored his second touchdown in the third quarter on a 12-yard run to make it 14-6 heading into the final quarter.

Havlik’s third touchdown of the game came on a 15-yard run in the fourth quarter. He then connected with Ryder Michalek on the conversion to make it 22-6.

Havlik finished with 122 yards rushing on 22 carries for W/WS/SC, while Eddy added 84 yards on 17 carries.
Havlik converted on 12 of 18 passes for 126 yards for the Blackhawks. Michalek had seven catches for 78 yards, while Blake Larson had three catches for 34 yards and Eddy had three catches for 29 yards.

Eddy led W/WS/SC defensively with nine tackles. Caleb Kneen had eight tackles and three sacks, while Blake Larson had five tackles and an interception. Bryce Larson and Karter Mebius each had and interception.

The Blackhawks return to action Friday, when then travel to face Miller/Highmore-Harrold in Miller.
