Wallman receives Homegrown Scholarship
Helena Agri-Enterprises is awarding Jerrad Wallman of Yale with the Homegrown® Scholarship worth $1,000 to pursue a higher education. Wallman is a graduate of James Valley Christian High School and is entering South Dakota State University to study agriculture science.
Helena’s Homegrown Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors from 15 states who are majoring in an agriculture-related program. For several years, the Homegrown Scholarship has been an important part of Helena’s commitment to developing the future of ag professionals.
Applications for the Homegrown Scholarship will be available again in early 2026 through ag teachers and local FFA chapters in participating states and counties.
SDATAT awards scholarships
This year’s applicants were asked to reflect on cultural values, personal development, and civic engagement in their essays. Students explored current cultural trends, interviewed someone who helped shape their values, and described how they plan to make a positive impact on local government and the state of South Dakota.
The SDATAT scholarship program honors young people from South Dakota’s townships who embody servant leadership — humility, hard work, and commitment to others. By supporting these students, we’re investing in future leaders who will carry on the legacy of strong, service-driven township government.
