DE SMET - The De Smet Bulldogs closed the regular season with a hard-fought five-set victory over the Arlington Cardinals in De Smet on Tuesday.
Set scores for the Bulldogs, now 15-12, were 25-16, 23-25, 12-25, 26-24, and 15-13.
The Bulldogs were led by a dominant game from Hazel Luethmers, finishing with 29 kills and four blocks. Mirra Beck had 11 kills and 30 digs.
Brooke Jennings had 28 digs and five kills for De Smet. Megan Dylla set up the Bulldog offense with 47 assists.
The Cardinals finish the regular season at 13-19. Jaclyn Huntimer had 19 kills to lead the attack. Jordan Spidle had five aces from the service line.
Sony Johnson had 29 assists and nine kills while Madi Bacon led the defense with 28 digs.
De Smet will face Wessington Springs Tuesday in a Region 2B quarterfinal game to open the postseason.
