De Smet 3, Deuel 1
CLEAR LAKE — The De Smet Bulldogs posted a 3-1 win over the Deuel Cardinals in non-conference volleyball action. Set scores for De Smet were 25-19, 25-20, 16-25 and 25-17.

It was the Hazel Luethmers night for De Smet, as she notched 21 kills and added three aces and four blocks. Mirra Beck added seven kills, an ace and had 10 digs, while Alyssa Asleson had 11 digs and 12 assists in the match.

Megan Dylla had 17 assists and a block for De Smet, which improves to 2-3 with the win.

For Deuel, which falls to 2-3, Josie Andersen had eight kills, 13 assists and 14 digs, while Annika Krig added six kills and 13 digs.

De Smet tangles with Clark/Willow Lake on Saturday, in the Cyclone Invitational Tournament in Clark.

Warner 3, Miller 0
MILLER — The defending Class “B” State champion Warner Monarchs pushed their season record to an unblemished 9-0 Tuesday night, with a 3-0 win over the Miller Rustlers at the Miller Armory. Set scores for the Monarchs were 25-18, 25-16 and 25-16. Miller slips to 3-2 with the loss.

Kyleigh Schopp had 11 kills and two blocks to pace the Monarchs, who also got four aces and 14 digs from Courtney Bjorgaard. Kyra Marcuson added nine kills and Lauren Marcuson chipped in seven, as Libby Scepaniak was a perfect 45-45 in sets, with 15 assists.

The Rustlers were led by Aleah Schlector’s 7 kills, while Shayle Anderberg added six kills, and an ace. Heather Resel handed out 17 assists in the match, handing 80 of 81 chances and Jolie Palmer led the defense with 20 digs.

Miller is back in action on Saturday, hosting Potter County.

Corsica-Stickney 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 0
WOONSOCKET — The Corsica-Stickney Jaguars sprinted past the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks 3-0 in non-conference volleyball Tuesday night.

The Jags were led by Sophie Delang with 12 kills and six assists, while Brookly Bosma laced nine aces and Jacey Kemp added four. Braylee Bordwyk added three aces 18 assists in the match.

The Blackhawks got six kills from Kam Ochsner, while Liz Boschee had three aces and two blocks. Kenzie Schley passed out 11 assists and led the defense with nine digs.

SC/W, now 3-3, host Parkston Thursday in Forestburg.

Clark/Willow Lake 3, Wilmot 0
WILLOW LAKE — The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones annihilated the Wilmot Wolves in straight set Tuesday night, 25-16, 25-9 and 25-9.

Hannah Heiman recorded five kills and had six aces for the Cyclones, who got four kills from Shelby Anderson. 

Zoe Nichols had 12 assists in the match and Sara Thomvold recorded six blocks.

No statistics were available for the Wolves.

C/WL. now 2-5 on the season, travel to Webster on Thursday.

Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Faulkton Area 1
TULARE — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots overcame some third-set jitters to come back and post a 3-1 win over the Faulkton Area Trojans in non-conference volleyball Tuesday night. Set scores were 25-22, 25-21, 23-25 and 25-11.

The Lady Pats, now 5-2, were led by Katelyn Schroeder’s 15 kills, while ella Johnson added nine big swings. Lila Johnson had 30 assists in the match and Cambree Hoekman led the defense with 22 kills.

Faulkton Area’s Carley Cotton led all scorers with 16 kills while Micah Martinmaas handed out 21 assists Addison Melius had 28 digs and Carley Cotton added 27 digs.
