Heartland Class A and Class B teams begin postseason play this week

Class A and Class B schools in the area will begin their journey to a hopeful state tournament appearance in regional action next week.
Class A
The Redfield Pheasants will take a 6-19 record and as the seventh-seed will travel to Aberdeen to face second-seeded Aberdeen Roncalli in Region 1A.
Clark/Willow Lake (17-7) will face a tough Region 2A assignment as the fourth seed. They will host Elkton-Lake Benton Tuesday at Willow Lake, with the winner facing top-seeded Hamlin on Thursday.
The State Class A fourth-ranked Miller Rustlers will have a bye Tuesday before facing the winner of Cheyenne-Eagle Butte and Platte-Geddes Thursday.
Class B
With three top-five teams in the region, Region 1B may be the toughest region of any class in the state to reach the state tournament, with perrenial favorites Warner and Northwestern holding residence. Third-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare will hold the second seed in the region and play the winner of Tiospa Zina and Waubay/Summit on Thursday in Tulare.
Region 2B will see a number of local teams, with Iroquois/Lake Preston bringing a 6-23 record and eighth seed against Oldham/Ramona-Rutland at Lake Preston Monday. James Valley Christian (2-15) will travel to Arlington Monday. The winner of that matchup will travel to Wolsey to face second-seeded Wolsey-Wessington (22-7) on Tuesday.
De Smet (15-12) will also travel to Wolsey-Wessington as the fourth seed on Tuesday to host fifth seed Wessington Springs, who have a 14-14 season record.
Sanborn Central/Woonsocket will take a 17-10 record into its matchup as the seventh seed in Region 3B against the Flandreau Indians on Monday, with the winner traveling to face Colman-Egan on Tuesday.
Sunshine Bible Academy will travel to face Tiospaye Topa Monday, with the winner traveling to Herreid/Selby Area on Tuesday in Region 6B. Also in 6B, Highmore-Harrold (10-17) will travel to Potter County as the sixth seed on Tuesday.
