HURON –– The Beadle County Commission is accepting letters of interest for the vacant commissioner position for District No. 4 in Beadle County.
This district includes all of Valley Township and a portion of the city of Huron.
Letters can be emailed to auditor@beadlesd.org or letters can be mailed to or dropped off in person at 450 3rd St. SW, Huron, SD 57350.
Letters must be received by Monday, July 7, at 5 p.m. for consideration.
The Beadle County Commission will review all received letters of interest at their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 8, and make an appointment at that time. The selected person will assume their duties as commissioner at the Tuesday, July 15, meeting.
Due to the vacancy occurring midway through a term, the successful applicant will hold the commissioner position through 2026. In 2026, the position is up for election for a two-year term before being elected in 2028 for a four-year term.
Any interested parties unsure of their county district can review the map or log onto the S.D. Secretary of State’s website under the Voter Information Portal at https://vip.sdsos.gov/VIPLogin.aspx.
