HURON – Wednesday’s hearing examiner meeting at noon at the commission room of City Hall will have three agenda items, one of which will be a conditional use permit filed by East Dakota Premium Beef, LLC to build a beef processing plant in the Vantage Business Park on the East side of Huron.
The issue drew a large crowd on February 21 when the initial proposed site in the west industrial park was proposed.
After public testimony at that hearing, the company withdrew its variance application and chose to re-evaluate the costs of building in the Vantage Business Park. After the city commission approved a plat within Vantage at Monday’s meeting, the road was cleared for this conditional use permit to be heard.
Also on the agenda Wednesday will be a variance request filed by Gary Marshall to construct a detached garage on a subdivided lot at 407 6th St. NE, as well as a conditional use permit filed by Buell Consulting on behalf of Verizon Wireless to construct a cell phone tower at 360 Jersey Ave. NE.
The public is welcome to attend.
