HURON — Betty Presuhn, age 94, of Huron, passed away March 27, 2024, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her services are 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, at the Faith Alive Community Church. Visitation will be an hour prior. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Betty Mable (Power) Presuhn was born April 3, 1929, to William E. and Ella Emilie (Strubar) Power in Huron. Betty attended McKinley Elementary School and graduated from Huron High School in 1947.
On January 29, 1950, Betty married Lawrence (Larry) Presuhn at the Methodist Parsonage in Huron
Betty worked for J.J. Newberry’s Department Store, Bell Telephone, GAC Finance Corporation, Bob Berg Finance, and Art Pugsley Construction Company.
Although Betty was active in the community, she always made it a priority to make time for her family. She enjoyed baking 7-layer bars and traveling with her family.
Betty and Larry served as co-presidents of the Washington Elementary School PTO. They also enjoyed being members of the Mr. and Mrs. Dance Club. Betty was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed singing in the First United Methodist Church Choir for more than 50 years, starting in high school and especially performing with the vocal quartet. She was also a member of Kiwanis.
Grateful for having shared in Betty’s life are her three children, David (Shannie) Presuhn of Auburn, Wash., Gary (Marilee) Presuhn of Niceville, Fla., and Scott (Lana) Presuhn of Killeen, Texas; five grandchildren, Janelle (Matt) Spencer, Heather (Bert) Sturner, Amy (Scott) LeDuc, Matthew Presuhn, and Troy Presuhn; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Kahlan and Leo Spencer.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Larry, two sisters, Lulu Morrow and Thelma Gose; and two brothers, William R. and Calvin D. Power.
Memorials may be directed to Faith Alive Women’s Group in Betty’s name.
