HURON —Teams of hunters and their dogs took to the field Thursday, braving cold temperatures, breezy conditions and a wee bit of snow, during the first day of the Bird Dog Challenge.
The teams are required to go into a field, where rooster pheasants are “planted” by challenge organizers. They are all given a certain amount of time for the dog to find and the hunter to shoot the birds. The event continues today.
