Board of Realtors hold 2023 banquet, install officers

HURON — The Huron Board of Realtors held its annual banquet, installation of officers and awards ceremony, at the Huron Country Club.

Michelle Kleven, CEO of the South Dakota Realtors Association, and the 2024 SDR President, Micah Volmer, from Mitchell, speak and install the following officers for 2024:

• President - Phelan Stah
• Vice president - Mary Neugebauer.
• Secretary/Treasurer - Steve Sprecher
• State director - Shawn Harvey
• Local directors - Reg Kleinsasser and Elliot Hinricher.

Jim Tharp is the group’s past president.

Roger Chase of Action Realty was named Realtor of the Year, while Saige Peterson of Legacy LDRSHIP, LLC Realty Group is the Rising Star.

This year’s Affiliate of the Year was presented to Jamie Olson, on behalf of American Bank & Trust of Huron.

The banquet was a tremendous success for the Realtors for Kids Auction, raising $1,580, which the group will contribute to the Salvation Army during the holidays.

Tony Haarstad was recognized for raising an additional $2,180 for RPAC.

The Memorial Golf Tournament was a great success, as the Huron BOR was able to honor past Huron realtors Shirley Chase, John Roache, Dick Shelton, and Keith Montgomery.

First place in the golf tournament went to the “Selling South Dakota Team of  Jonna Zurbrigen, Susanne Vandenberg and Carrie Roache-Nipe.  

Winning the Pin Prizes were: Women’s Longest Putt – Jonna Zurbrigen; Men’s Longest Putt – Jim Cypher; Women’s Closest to the Pin – Schalane Bucklin; Men’s Closest to the Pin – Jim Cypher.
