ABERDEEN - Brandon Valley comfortably took the Grand Champion Dance and Harrisburg won the Grand Champion Cheer Thursday at the Eastern South Dakota conference cheer and dance contest in Aberdeen.
Harrisburg scored 278 to outpace Watertown, who finished with 273. Brookings earned third with a 266.5 score and Brandon Valley was fourth with 234.5.
Brandon Valley had the top score in both jazz and pom to finish with a 293.5 score. Yankton took second at 285.25, Harrisburg finished with a 281.25 score, and Pierre posted 263.25.
Huron finished eighth in both cheer and dance, finishing with a 203 score in cheer and a 230.25 score in dance. The Tigers finished with a 232.5 in jazz and 228 in hip hop during the dance competition.
Next up for the Tigers is State AA competition in Sioux Falls Oct. 21.
