On April 22 the Wolsey-Wessington Music Students hosted their annual Cabaret for a Cause, with 15 different groups and soloists performing for a charity of their choice. Each performance was competing for first-, second- and third-place prizes to be donated to their charities.
Charities sponsored included The Sanford Children’s Hospital, St. Jude’s Hospital, Children’s Miracle Network, Humane Society, American Red Cross, Relay For Life, Kids Against Hunger, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Salvation Army, Jan Manolis Family Safe Center, Plus one Guidance, Feeding South Dakota, and United Way
Performers and their charities included:
• “Burn” by Kendal Uttecht for St. Jude’s Children Hospital — first place, $125
• “You Say” by Faith Nelson and Macie Luce for Plus One Pregnancy Center — second place, $100, and People’s Choice, $50
• “DNA” by Giyahna Richmond and Faith Nelson for Ronald McDonald House — third place, $75
