Widespread Friday morning power outage under investigation by Northwestern Energy

HURON — The cause of a power outage that affected many residents of Huron and surrounding area remains under investigation, according to a Northwestern Energy spokesperson.
Jo Dee Black, a media specialist with Northwestern, reported that at approximately 1:15 a.m. on Friday, an outage occured, which affected around 7,800 customers.
Crews responded immediately and restored service by 2:40 a.m.
“Our priority is to restore service as quickly as possible, safely,” Black stated.
Crews were continuing work Friday to determine the cause of the outage.
