HURON — Representatives from the Huron Chamber & Visitors Bureau, community members and even Santa were present Saturday morning to witness the first tree lighting ceremony in Huron at the Huron Veterans Memorial.
Santa began the ceremony by announcing the winners of Friday night’s Parade of Lights.
The award winners are:
• Best lighting: Dakota Energy
The theme for the 2025 Parade of Lights was announced as “vintage Christmas.”
After the awards and theme announcement, the tree was plugged in and the gathered community members sang a pair of Christmas hymns together and enjoyed cookies and hot cider.
