HURON — One of the top concerns that came from the recent Huron Rising 2.0 session was an effort at keeping the appearance of the city clean and respectable, which help everyone in town.
To that end, Huron city employees will clean various city properties on Monday, April 22, picking up litter and trash from the parks and other city properties. It’s a happy coincidence that Monday also happens to be Earth Day.
The city is challenging Huron businesses to join in on a clean-up week around town, by picking up, tidying, and generally cleaning up their property.
Businesses that participate are urged to snap a quick picture of their staff (or volunteer help) at work cleaning, or perhaps a ‘before-and’after’ photo, and send those photos to Plainsman editor Curt Nettinga (cnettinga@plainsman.com) for inclusion in a photo spread in a future issue of the paper, highlighting the interest of the community businesses in cleaning the community!
Dependent upon the number of photos submitted, the Plainsman may not be able to publish all photos, will do its best to highlight as many businesses as possible!
