Parks and Recreation Director Chad Schroder and Human Resource Manager Shanna Sterrett presented a departmental item with three parts. The first was accepting the retirement of Darvin Polsean, Park Maintenance 3, effective May 17. The second part requested permission to post internally for the position with the promotion or transfer effective May 20. The final piece allowed the department to post internally or advertise for any subsequent promotions or vacancies created in the process of meeting the second item. This was all approved.
Commissioner Rich Bragg praised Schroder and Sterrett for looking ahead to plan for impending retirements in order to allow proper time for interviewing and potential job shadow as an employee is voluntarily retiring from a position.
