HURON — During public forum at Monday’s Huron City Commission meeting, Parks & Recreation director Chad Schroder informed the commission and the public that his department would be doing a spray for mosquitos throughout the city of Huron on Wednesday.

“Rain and wind are the things that can change those plans,” Schroder expressed, with Thursday set as a backup day if weather interferes on Wednesday.

A payment request was approved to Asphalt Paving and Materials Company in the amount of $585,648.17 for street milling and overlay that has been completed thus far.

Commissioners approved a quit claim deed, certificate of real estate value and resolution for the transfer of lot seven of Broadland Creek Industrial Park to Greater Huron Development Corporation (GHDC). A groundbreaking is planned for May 31, and the construction will take approximately one year.
