Clark/Willow Lake boys defeat Deuel

CLEAR LAKE — Using three players in double figures, Clark/Willow Lake recorded a 53-45 victory against Deuel on Friday.

The Cyclones led 23-19 at the half and outscored Deuel 13-8 in the third quarter.

Emmerson Larson had 18 points to lead Clark/Willow Lake, which improved to 5-4. Jack Helkenn and Bo Begeman had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Begeman also had nine rebounds to help the Cyclones to a 30-23 advantage on the boards. He also had a team-high five steals.

Trey Maaland led the Cardinals, who are now 6-4, with 18 points. Gabe Sather added 13 points and had 12 rebounds.

Clark/Willow Lake travels to play Aberdeen Roncalli on Thursday.

CLEAR LAKE — Deuel outscored Clark/Willow Lake 16-4 in the opening quarter en route to a 51-41 victory on Friday.

Josie Anderson had 15 points to lead the Cardinals, who improved to 5-5. Jaycee Hourigan had 14 points.

Tehya Vig and Kamryn Nesheim each had 14 points for the Cyclones, who are now 3-7. Shelby Begeman added eight points.

Clark/Willow Lake returns to action today at Great Plains Lutheran.
