Following the Veterans Day program at James Valley Christian School Friday morning, Army veteran Keith Kleinsasser visited the first grade class to share some of his experiences as a serviceman.
First grade students learned some new vocabulary words such as barracks, mess hall and latrine. The children did not like the idea of sleeping on a bunk bed as a grown up or having to make their beds everyday. They learned life was not always easy for a soldier far away from home.
Kleinsasser is a JVC alumni and his grandson, Zeke Olson, is a first grader at JVC.
