HURON — In a significant step toward ensuring the future of our library, a dedicated group of community members has come together to form the Huron Library Foundation. This initiative stems from the library’s strategic planning process conducted in 2022, which emphasized the importance of long-term planning as a top priority.
The newly formed foundation recently held its second meeting, during which officers were elected to the Board. The elected officers are President Michele Bennett, Vice President Ryan Maxted, and Secretary/Treasurer Sarah May. Additional Board members include Ron Volesky, Veronica Chajchal, and Jesse Hanson. This committed group is focused on enhancing the library’s resources and programs, and they are excited about the potential impact they can have on our community.
To kickstart their efforts, the foundation plans to launch a fundraiser soon to raise the necessary funds for filing the required paperwork with the state. This step is crucial for establishing the foundation as a formal entity.
The library is thrilled to see this group of invested individuals come together to support our mission and strengthen our community’s access to knowledge and resources.
