Posted

To honor all Veterans serving this great country, the De Smet Area Arts Council and Master Sgt. Jimmy Weber (retired) are inviting all Veterans to enjoy a special concert in their honor on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 3 p.m. in the De Smet Event Center.

A renowned patriotic performer, Jimmy Weber returns to De Smet by popular demand to perform for this Veteran’s tribute bringing everyone’s patriotism and pride in being an American to the forefront.

All Veterans and their guest may attend at no charge. This is the sixth and final concert in the 2023 De Smet Concert Series, with all members also attending free of charge. All others in the area are welcome to attend to enjoy and celebrate our Veterans with the ticket price of $20.

Omaha, Neb.-based country artist Jimmy Weber pays tribute to fallen military service members and also the families left behind with the video release of his single “Taps (God Is Nigh)”. He has shared the stage with country music royalty including Kenny Rogers, Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Clint Black and Trace Adkins to name a few.

Jimmy retired from active duty after 24 years of service with the US Air Force. A former member of the US Air Force Band, he deployed 5 times, bringing comfort and hope to our service members in Iraq, Afghanistan and dozens of other countries in Southwest Asia, Africa, Europe and North and South America.

As part of a USO tour that performed over the Thanksgiving Holiday for U.S. Troops in the Middle East, Jimmy toured as the lead guitarist and background vocalist with Wayne Newton, Neil McCoy, the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and Paul Rodriguez.

A freewill donation will be taken with proceeds going to Honor Flights bringing veterans to Washington DC.

Although it is not required, it is appreciated if Veterans call to let the Arts Council know you will be attending. Remember that you are invited to bring a guest with you free of charge. Call (605) 854-3502 or 605-854-6060 for tickets and information.
