HURON — A typically-low reporting day led to increase in active cases around the state and local region as well in the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) Monday numbers.
The state added 181 new positive cases and 119 new recovered cases. That led to an increase in active COVID-19 cases in the state to 5,102.
Beadle County added three positive cases to bring the active cases in the county to 83.
The Heartland Region saw active cases jump by nearly 30 since Friday to 196 after the Monday DOH numbers. Currently hospitalized in the seven-county region are down to the lowest number in multiple months, as just two regional residents are actively hospitalized due to virus-related reasons.
