HURON –– On Monday, April 14, railroad crossing replacement work will begin north of Market St. on Dakota Ave. in Huron. Due to this work, Dakota Ave. will be closed from Market St. to Commercial St. for approximately two weeks.

Upon completion of the railroad crossing replacement, the Dakota Ave. project contractor is scheduled to place storm sewer across Dakota Ave. at Second St. N. While the storm sewer is installed, Dakota Ave. will be closed from Third St. N. to south of Second St. N. The storm sewer project is anticipated to last an additional two weeks.

A signed detour will be in place during the project to direct motorists to Third St. S., Lincoln Ave., and U.S. Hwy. 14.

More information on the project can be found on the SDDOT website, https://dot.sd.gov/huron37 or by texting “HURON37” to 605-566-4041.
