HURON — The City is requesting property owners along Dakota Avenue from Market Street to 7th Street South to refrain from using salt or ice melt on the newly placed concrete this winter.
Alternatives to salt include sand, kitty litter, fertilizer, vinegar, and coffee grounds. If conditions require the use of salt, please use it in moderation. This will reduce the risk of damaging the new concrete.
City assistant engineer Dennis Bennett added, "We appreciate your understanding and cooperation through this challenging construction project."
Please call City Engineering (605-353-8510) with any questions.
