ELKTON — Seven Heartland Area athletes were recognized as the all-conference teams for Dakota Valley Conference were announced.

The De Smet Bulldogs (6-2, 4-1) finished second in the DVC and received four all-conference selections. Seniors Kadyn Fast, Britt Carlson, and Tom Aughenbaugh were recognized along with sophomore Grant Wilkinson. Senior Trace Van Regenmorter received honorable mention for the Bulldogs.

Iroquois/Lake Preston finished 0-8 on the season with a 0-5 record in the conference, but the Sharks did have two players recognized. Freshman Lucas Peskey was selected as all-conference while senior Josh McMasters was picked as an honorable mention.

Elkton-Lake Benton won the DVC with a 5-0 conference record and 7-1 overall record. Elks coach Ethan Pearson was recognized as the DVC coach of the year. The most valuable player was Nic Gaspar of Dell Rapids St. Mary.
