HURON — Class “A” All-State and All-Region baseball rosters were announced Wednesday by the South Dakota High School Baseball Association.
Sioux Falls Washington and Yankton each had two selections on the first team All-State.
The Huron Tigers did not have a player that made first- or second-team All-State, but two members of the local nine were selected to the All-Region team.
Senior Mason Davis was selected as an outfielder and pitcher. At the plate, Davis got on base at a .362 clip while adding a pair of doubles and three stolen bases in 58 plate appearances.
On the mound, Davis made five appearances, three of them starts, pitching 18 2/3 innings. He posted a 0-1 record, with 15 strikeouts, a 2.62 earned run average (ERA), and allowing 1.34 walks and hits per inning pitched (WHIP).
Sophomore Jack Pederson was selected for his work as a pitcher this year for Huron. The lefty made one start among his six appearances, tossing 14 2/3 innings. Pederson posted a 1-0 record with 14 strikeouts, a 0.96 ERA, and a 1.02 WHIP.
Pederson was among 11 sophomores recognized on All-State or All-Region teams out of 85 players honored for this season’s performance.
Pierre, Brandon Valley, Harrisburg, and Sioux Falls Jefferson will compete this weekend for the state championship.
