HURON — The Beadle County Genealogy Group will host an event, “Discover the S.D. Resource Room,” beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Huron Public Library.
The speaker at Wednesday’s meeting is Jennifer Littlefield, the Resource Librarian for the HPL, who will lead a tour of the Resource Room, sharing what the room has and some of the things still on their wish list.
The S.D. Resource Room is available each Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., and has a wealth of ways to browse, or research historical information or your genealogy. There are numerous books of the area, a broad collection of Huron High School and Huron College yearbooks, past city directories and phone books and Huron newspapers, dating from 1880 to the present, all on microfilm.
Bring questions and ideas for the group and get started on your research.
