Ba Blue and Lily Taddy grew up in Thailand in a refugee camp and moved to Omaha in 2005.  They were married in 2011, and since then have dreamed about owning their own restaurant in the US. 

Their dreams came true when they opened their first restaurant in 2016 in Omaha, Neb., named Mercy Thai. They later sold their restaurant in Nebraska, and moved to Huron in July 2020, with their two daughters Mercy and Blessing, to be closer to family, and liking the comfort of living in a smaller town to raise their family.

“Since arriving in Huron, the children have enjoyed the school system and we appreciate the new friends we have made,” said Blue.

Ba Blue and Lily Taddy opened their restaurant in November 2020 in the Clock Tower Mall. Their restaurant, Mercy Thai, serves authentic Thai dishes such as Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Fried Rice, Curry, and fried ice cream.

“We are looking for a new challenge in life,” said Blue. “The restaurant will be the future for our family.”

With the skills  they know, Blue said he knows that a restaurant is one of the only things they can do together as a family. “My family is able to work together and my wife enjoys to cook,” commented Blue.
