HURON — Three area coaches were named Region Coaches of the Year by the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association for the 2024-2025 season.
Jerome Nesheim of Clark/Willow Lake earned the boys’ varsity head coaching honor in Region 1, while Andrea Begeman of Clark/Willow Lake finished tied for the girls’ varsity head coaching honor in Region 1 with Matt Locke of Groton Area.
Head coach Rob Baruth, who guided Sanborn Central/Woonsocket to the championship game of the Class B State Girls’ Basketball Tournament, earned the honor in Region 3.
Huron assistant boys’ basketball coach Jim Noyes, who just completed his 50th season of coaching basketball in South Dakota, was honored in Region 3.
