Second graders at Holy Trinity Catholic School celebrated Laura Ingalls Wilder’s birthday on Feb. 7.
The students wrote on slates, had a Spelling Bee, played games, did some sewing, and had a picnic lunch — with their food arriving in tin pails, of course.
The students read Wilder’s books throughout the year to compare the past and present.
They will take a field trip to De Smet in May.
