The Huron Area Women Business Leaders group (HAWBL) gathered bright and early on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to assist with packing over 500 bags for the Huron Back Pack program.
The group has volunteered for and sponsored many community activities. Their latest project is a plastic bag recycling program. They are trying to collect 1,000 pounds of plastic bags before May of 2025 and will be sending them to a company that will make them into park benches, one of which would be coming to the Huron area.
