The American Lutheran Church Christian Learning Center (ALC/CLC) is completing its 44th year of serving preschoolers in the Huron area!
They are presently accepting registrations for the 2025-2026 school year. You may contact the director, Nicole Gerber at 605-352-8514 ext. 2 with any questions or email the preschool at alc.clc@midconetwork.com. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday with the 3’s meeting in the mornings from 8:15 to 11:15 a.m. and the 4’s in the afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The preschool room is located in the upper level of the American Lutheran Church Educational Building, located at 155 Fourth St. S.E. in Huron.
The preschool is active in the Huron School District Preschool Partnership Program. They admit students of any race, color, national, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities at the preschool. They are interdenominational, where the true meaning of Christmas and Easter is presented.
Throughout the school year many field trips are taken. Some of their trips this year included Coborn’s grocery store, Godfather’s, the Post office, and more. They also have special visitors to their classes such as a policeman, dentist, etc.
The preschool board and staff believe the best preschool experience comes from providing opportunities for learning and growth through developments, age-appropriate exploration, discovery, and hands-on experiences. The staff sees that the children are well prepared for kindergarten.
At the ALC Christian Learning Center children are provided with a safe, positive, and stimulating Christian environment that encourages growth in all areas of development — spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual.
The preschool staff and volunteers love the children and welcome all to preschool.
