HURON — Senior Hamtyn Heinz closed out her high school volleyball career for Huron by being named to the Class AA all-state second team, which was selected by the South Dakota High School Volleyball Coaches Association and announced Monday.
Heinz, who was the setter for the Tigers, amassed 2,092 assists during her volleyball career. She also had 1,143 digs, 284 kills, 156 aces and 102 blocks.
“Hamtyn grew tremendous strides as a leader and grew as an athlete on the court this year,” Huron coach TyAnn Ulmer said. “She was reliable in all areas of the game this year. There is a reason why we got as far as we did during the season,”
“She worked hard every day at practice, kept her teammates and herself accountable,” she said.
