Former Huron standout Havyn Heinz and her Wayne State teammates participated in the Volleyball Day in Lincoln event which was held Aug. 30 at Lincoln Memorial Football Stadium in Lincoln, Neb.
The event which included matches between Wayne State and the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Nebraska and University of Nebraska-Omaha, attracted 92,003 fans. It established a new world record for attendance at a women’s event and surpassed the previous attendance record at the stadium, which was 91,585.
Wayne State, which recorded a sweep that day, is currently the No. 1 NCAA Division II volleyball team in the nation.
