HRMC honors Wiese as Beyond Exceptional Employee

Posted

Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently honored Kirsten Wiese, CNA, with the Beyond Exceptional Everyday (BEE) Award.
Wiese has been a certified nurse aid on the medical floor for little less than a year. She was nominated for the award by a patient who shared, “Kirsten made me feel like taking care of my needs was important to her and she was very timely with requests. She is a great asset to the medical floor, and I would like her to know that what she does makes a difference to her patients.”

Wiese chose to be a CNA to help make an impact. “I became a CNA in 2008 because I love taking care of people and one day hope to become a nurse,” said Wiese. “I love the medical field. There is always something to learn and new faces to meet.”

HRMC’s BEE Award recognizes employees who go above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s core values of REACH by being respectful, engaged, available, competent, and helpful. Employees can be nominated by fellow coworkers or by patients or visitors who witness exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments select the BEE Award honoree on a quarterly basis.

As BEE Award recipient, Wiese received a meal certificate to a local restaurant, $30 credit to the HRMC employee store, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, and a lapel pin.

Upon receiving the award, Wiese expressed, “I was very surprised to receive the award and honored. I love my job and the medical field. It’s an honor to be recognized for my efforts. I didn’t expect it, but it feels great and lets me know I do make a difference.”

Wiese is a mother of two girls, Willow (4) and Addison (6), and two boys, Chase (15) and Kobus (8), along with her stepson Wes (16). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids and fiancé, Jeremy.

She loves music and learning so she is always active. Wiese also works as a school substitute in Huron on her days off.

Patients or visitors can nominate caregivers and employees to receive recognition at huronregional.org/recognition-awards or by calling 605-353-6572.
