HURON — Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) recently selected Teresa Gange to receive the Innovator of the Quarter Award.
Gange, HRMC Safety Officer and office assistant for the facilities department, has worked at HRMC for two years. She submitted an innovative idea to create an alert system to notify not only those working in the facility, but also external partners, of any important safety alerts or updates. Gange’s suggestion was selected as the winning idea for the Innovator Award.
Each quarter, the Innovator Award is presented and celebrated, indicating eligibility for an annual Innovator of the Year Award.
Gange’s idea spurred the initiation of a task force to research ideas and vendors to overhead page to all locations of the hospital with just one phone call. Working in the emergency management role at HRMC is a passion for Gange, “While I have worked in several departments of the hospital, I really feel I found my true calling in emergency management preparation as HRMC Safety Officer.”
Gange holds an associate degree in Health Care Administration as well as various certifications, including the ALICE active shooter instructor certification.
She lives in Huron with her husband Gene and has two children, Matt and Jerry, along with two grandchildren, Ezra and Aria, who reside in Texas. In her spare time, she video chats with her grandchildren and loves crafting.
